Paul Wong

Paul Wong, PhD, was born in northern China, grew up in the British colony of Hong Kong and educated in Canada. He did theology training at the Toronto Bible College (now Tyndale University College and Seminary), and a PhD in psychology from the University of Toronto. He taught at the University of Texas at Austin, York University, Trent University, the University of Toronto, and Trinity Western University. As an ordained pastor, a registered clinical psychologist, and university professor, has practiced integration of psychology and spirituality. Has published extensively in psychology, consulted internationally, and preached widely in churches, always with the same passion to inform and inspire. He has been the founding pastor of the Chinese Gospel Church in Toronto, founding Director of the Graduate Program in Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University, founding President of the International Network on Personal Meaning and the International Society for Existential Psychology and Psychotherapy. Although cited in many areas of psychology, is most widely known for research on death acceptance, personal meaning and meaning-centered counselling and therapy.
