B.A., M.Ed., PhD

Tami has been teaching Counselling in a college diploma program over the past 9 years. She has worked as a Mental Health Therapist in primary care, social services and private practice. Recently Tami completed a PhD in Education where she researched how to teach empathy within the context of the helping relationship. Courses that Tami teaches include The Helping Process, Crisis Intervention and Trauma Informed Care, Advanced Helping Skills, Integrated Counselling and Mindfulness. Therapy groups that she has facilitated include A New Story (a narrative approach and self-development program for women), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Her research focuses on holistic approaches for constructing curriculum as lived experience.
